Privacy Policy

Endless U (“Endless U,” “we,” “us”) is a ChatGPT app and companion website (endlessu.ai) that turns any topic into a guided course you work through by chatting, with your progress tracked across sessions. This policy explains what information we collect, what we don’t, and how it’s used.

Information we collect

  • Account information, via sign-in (handled by WorkOS): your name and email address.
  • Profile information: an anonymous handle we generate for you (e.g. “Curious-Falcon-482”), which you can change; whether you’ve opted out of the leaderboard.
  • Course data: the titles, summaries, and structure of courses you create, and your completion progress (which modules/submodules you’ve finished, when).
  • Points and streak data: derived from the course activity above (points, current streak, leaderboard rank).

What we don’t collect

We do not store your ChatGPT conversations.The actual teaching, questions, and answers happen entirely between you and ChatGPT and are never sent to or stored by our servers. We only receive the structural facts your course explicitly saves — a course’s title/outline, and which step you’ve completed — never the surrounding conversation. This is a deliberate design choice, not an oversight: it’s why our points system only ever reflects real, structural progress rather than anything about what you actually discussed.

Because your conversation happens inside ChatGPT, it is also subject to OpenAI’s own privacy policy, separately from this one. We control what’s described above; OpenAI controls the conversation itself.

Public vs. private courses

  • Private coursesare visible only to you. They’re still stored in our database (see “Data storage” below) but are not listed anywhere on the site or discoverable by other users.
  • Public courses are listed on endlessu.ai, indexable by search engines, and can be discovered and clonedby other users — cloning copies the course’s structure into their own account so they can work through it themselves. Making a course public is your choice, not a default.
  • Your leaderboard handle, points, streak, and rank are public by defaultif you haven’t opted out of the leaderboard. Your real name and email are never shown publicly under any circumstances — only the anonymous handle.

How we use your information

  • To operate your account and keep you signed in.
  • To track course progress, points, and streaks.
  • To show your (anonymous) standing on the public leaderboard, unless you’ve opted out.
  • To occasionally send you email, including an onboarding sequence when you sign up. You can unsubscribe from these at any time via a link in the email.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) and served from a DigitalOcean server, both located in the United States. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Data at rest is encrypted at the infrastructure level by our hosting providers. We do not apply additional encryption on top of this for course content, since it isn’t sensitive/regulated data (e.g. no health, financial, or payment information is collected).

Third parties

We share information with the following services, only as needed to operate Endless U:

  • WorkOS — authentication (sign-in).
  • Supabase — database hosting.
  • DigitalOcean — server hosting.
  • Resend — sending account-related email (e.g. a welcome message when you sign up). You can unsubscribe from marketing/lifecycle email at any time via the link included in those emails.
  • Sentry — error monitoring, so we can detect and fix bugs. Sentry may incidentally receive technical details about a request when an error occurs (e.g. your account id), never your course content or ChatGPT conversation. On the website, Sentry also records a masked replay of your browser session around the time an error occurs (text and inputs are masked by default) to help us diagnose what went wrong — it does not run on the ChatGPT side of the product.
  • OpenAI— the ChatGPT platform Endless U runs on; your conversation with ChatGPT is governed by OpenAI’s own terms and privacy policy, not ours.

We do not sell your information to anyone.

Cookies

We use a session cookie (set by WorkOS) to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can change your display name at any time from your profile. You can opt out of the leaderboard from your dashboard, or by asking Endless U in ChatGPT to turn it off for you. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at team@endlessu.ai.

Children’s privacy

Endless U is accessed entirely through ChatGPT, so use of this app is subject to OpenAI’s own age requirements and policies. We don’t independently collect information from anyone OpenAI’s terms don’t already permit to use ChatGPT.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
